Willow Grove, Pennsylvania

Willow Grove Memorial Park is a 24-acre park in Upper Moreland Township.

As part of an effort to revitalize downtown Willow Grove, McCloskey & Faber coordinated with the Township Planner, Civil Engineer, and Traffic Engineer to re-design and develop the intersection of Easton Road and York Road. Work included the creation of a plaza with a new main access drive to the park which was previously only accessed from a small side road. Planter walls were designed with signage facing the road and to buffer pedestrian uses within the plazas.

McCloskey & Faber’s services included landscape and lighting design, site design, construction documentation, and construction administration. In later design work we volunteered our services in the development of the Helicopter Memorial recently installed at the intersection of the Memorial Park Drive and Mineral Avenue. As Township Landscape Architect for Upper Moreland Township we have been instrumental in requesting and coordinating land developments adjacent to the park including pedestrian trail connections from the Giant Food Store and College Station to the park and Willow Grove Train Station as well as integrating pedestrian circulation with the new Restaurant/Commercial development and extension of appropriate streetscape amenities.
