McCloskey & Faber joined efforts with West Norriton Township’s staff and the local Veterans organization to design a 50’ x 30’ memorial plaza, located in the front yard of the Township municipal building. The memorial focuses on a donated Naval ship anchor which is raised on a granite clad pedestal positioned in the center of the plaza. Brick paving, benches, landscaping, and accent lighting unifies the plaza into a people friendly space. As the design development process progressed, 5 more donated flagpoles were incorporated into the design to represent each branch of the armed forces. Full drawings and specifications were developed, and the project was successfully constructed by the Township’s Public Works employees. The Memorial plaza was dedicated on Veterans Day, 2002.
