Acts Granite Farms is a 26-acre Lifecare Retirement Community with interior swimming pool, outdoor recreation and trail system in Media, PA.

As North-East Regional Landscape Architects for Acts Retirement Life, McCloskey & Faber has worked on this facility and many others including Lima Estates, Southampton Estates, Spring House Estates, Gwynedd Estates, Brittany Pointe Estates, Cokesbury Village and others.

We were engaged by the Owner, during the Land Development process to work with the project Civil Engineer to provide landscape and site lighting drawings for Township review and approval. The focus of this work was to meet minimum Township requirements and minimize escrow requirements. Following Township Approvals, we were retained by the Owner to work with the Architect to develop specialty areas as the Owner requirements more fully developed. Part of this expanded work included the design of a sunken wandering garden adjacent to the proposed activities room to be used as a wandering garden by pre-Alzheimer’s residents. Plantings were selected to be non-poisonous some edible. Amenities include an arbor planted with honeysuckle to separate two outdoor rooms and a vase fountain as the feature in the main area. White wall-mounted trellises break-up the tall brick walls and make this a much more enjoyable space.
